First and foremost, we love the show. Braiden & I watch it regularly and often times watch the marathons even when I remind him they’re not new. He cares not, it’s entertaining to the only kid to watch the zoo like atmosphere. It’s hard to pick a favorite episode, though I know his is the poop pictures episode. I very good choice, IMO.
Lately I’ve felt disenchanted with the parental units. Not for the reasons that they get the most heat over it seem online, I love J & K bickering, it’s realistic, not pleasant but true to some people’s lives. Though I was just noticing how much better I think they’ve gotten this season. Probably helps having to watch yourself and discuss your behavior.
Anyhoo, my beef is the trips & luxuries. I loved the coupon clipping, the crazy meal scenes, simple outings. She’s so crazed about organic – grow a garden. I know, she doesn’t do outdoors. I don’t really either but playing in the dirt is fun. Regular chaos is entertaining.
I caught the teeth whitening episode last night and just didn’t know what to think. Neither of them work outside the home so it’s pure vanity of being on tv to me. Not to mention a big expense a “normal” family of 10 couldn’t afford. I don’t want to see anymore freebies. I miss the old days. Show the kids. And maybe show Jon working on the computer in Kate’s closet again for my laughter. And a special day for Jodi & Kevin for being the nicest aunt and uncle in the world.
That said I am looking forward to tonight’s episode & seeing some big hair on both accounts. I have high hopes for not cosmetic procedures.

I totally agree with you. I want to see their regular life again, not the weird, concocted situation that the producers think will fill up an episode.
Did you see the one where Jon got hair plugs? They acually cut part of his scalp off – ugg.

Plus…Jodi is a saint! I love that she still feels kind of awkward w/ the camera and actually talks to the crew. The whole family needs to be happy they have such a sweet family member who helps them out.

I’ve been a fan from the beginning, I love kids, their kids happen to be be ediable and J&K seemed so normal…not like the “other big fams”(Duggars etc.. amish bible thumpers–not that ther’s anything wrong with that). Slowly but surely J&K have morprhed into something crazy…J is so vain, hairplugs,lasic, personel trainer questioning what K wears. Then you have K and her biggest concern is laundry…if you didn’t want them to use markers why would you bring them to crayola???? I’m one of 7 in exactly 9 years (oldest/youngest have same birthday) my mother was 28 at her last delivery and never once was there another person folding laundry and or putting it away!!!! I could never judge J&K on their parenting though I do think that K is waaaay to controlling (but we all know someone like that) and their kids seem to be doing well. If I have to listen to K talk about how she has outgrown her house…you have no idea…I’m going to slap her!!! They knew what they were getting into when they got into fertility and the whole “God’s way” thing, if that were true then “Gods way” would have told them no birth children. K is such a marter do you really have to travel with 6 potty seats??? Do you really need 18 pieces of luggage for 24 hours??? They started off so sweet and nice but now seem to be milking their fame and living off their kids cuteness. As for their relationship I won’t begin to judge, I have 3 chilldren and my husband is alot of work, but I can say honestly that there’s no way in hell that I nor my husband would ever talk to each other the way that she talks to him and neither one of us would ever roll our eyes at the other the way that he does. When she says that she doesn’t realize that she does it that just means that she is selfish and self absorbed. All K ever talks about is how she wants them to be a normal family…hey guess what a normal family of 8 do not get one on one time with their parents!!!! While we’re on the subject, how about the way she treats Jodi!!!! We’ve never once seen her take Jodi’s kids for an afternoon while she goes to the spa, and then she has the nerve to question her??!!!! Where are K’s parents??? She seems to have a big chip on her shoulder about her upbringing and that would explain a lot (having to have complete control) and not telling her “fans” why their not in her life says alot. Bottom line I love plus eight, can deal with Jon and tolerate Kate but feel as if they have become a little to big for their britches!!!! Oh yea how about all of the freebies thy’re getting!!!! Are they even grateful!!!!

The family stuff is rather odd. Especially since Kevin’s such a big part of their lives yet her parents are not. I could understand if none of them were and maybe they weren’t hot about the tv show, but yeah it’s odd. Maybe they were against the fertility stuff?
The luggage thing was hilarious in a crazy way – I was needing to know if they got all the winter coats into one suitcase. They can’t make a big fuss about it and not resolve the storyline or show Jon jumping up and down on the suitcase. Seriously, I would’ve put them all in a trash bag – who cares.

I’ve read and I don’t know if it is true since sometimes the internet is full of lies, that Aunt Jodi was kicked off the show by Kate. Kate didn’t want her to get any money from the show despite everything that Jodi did for her. I feel so bad for these kids. Maddie needs some help with her tantrums. Aunt Jodi seemed very nice.

PEOPLE – are you all dazed and confused? “Aunt” Jodi has no class or taste – a real loving, caring family member would not allow others, and would not herself, display private family matters to the public. No matter how offended you may be “Aunt” Jodi – nothing positive can come out of your obvious contempt that you hold towards “your” family. It is quite obvious to me that Jodi is in fact an in-law, as a real sister would keep this problem in the family and in time, work towards resolving it – maybe giving it longer than just a few measly months. Jodi claims that she is an “advocate” for the well-being of the children and defends her motives with this. In seems to me that her real motive is to defend herself and her wounded pride after viewing how dingy she appeared on the “gum-gate” episode.

What’s with all the “aunt” business, she is their actual aunt as well as a vital part of their lives since birth, I think she’s earned the title as well.
Oh how I wish I could be back to the days when I was an innocent J&K+8 watcher. Only mere months ago apparently. But my viewing is tainted. We caught last night’s shows and had kind of a meh feeling about it, but TLC is stuff we can usually watch together. Braiden was still in the bathtub when they started and could tell me exactly what was happening. (ha truly a party trick, Mady’s always whining) I have a hard time sympathizing with their need for a bigger home and so on – especially since I’ve watched the Caston’s who remind me of my old friend Carin and her huge family sharing one bathroom. I just hope J&K can keep up with the big house payments when the show ends.
As for Jodi – I don’t think she had a choice but to validate the rumors, and I think she’s done it graciously, doesn’t gab about it or dwell on it.
It makes me sad to see what’s happened (again and again from what I can tell) to this family. Sad for the kids, but probably for the best for Jodi & Kevin and their family. The both of them were 100% in the kids lives and treated like extras in the kids’ lives literally and figuratively – and I’m basing that on what’s evidenced in the show let alone behind the scenes. Eventually J&K will stop thinking “show” and start thinking about their life again – it would be nice if it was sooner rather than later for family and the viewers sake but I doubt it. The camera crew are not your friends and family, Gosselins.
It made me appreciate the Duggars a bit more, they’re honest about how they make a living and were actually shown *working* last night.

All I know is that I miss the old shows. Where everyone thought the world of Kate. Although she appeared to be a bit pushy, and controlling; I still thought she was an awesome parent. Yet, we have come to a time where Kate’s true colors have finally shine through. I have to admit that I felt and feel bad for Jon some times when Kate’s be-littles Jon on national T.V. He seems to be a great DADDY. He does not deserve to be disrespected like that. How many young fathers are as responsible as he is with that many children. (NOT MANY)!!!!Now that they have money – the show is really not the same. The show before what about the struggle, and real-life situations. Now, the life they live is not that of an average family; making this show unrelateable. If we can not relate – then the show will more than likely lose viewers. We were amazed before on how Jon & Kate could manage such a complex life with and average income. Now, everthing is done for her, and money is no worry.

I enjoyed watching the show the best part was the kids they are adorable ( well Maddy not so much and the excuses made for her horrible attitude really saw her hit the little ones several times) but one thing I always wondered the lttle ones would hit each other with toys over the head and Kate would be sitting right next to them and never even notice or care I’m really not sure which I think not care anytime anyone else watched them they would always break it up before it got violent but them Kate said something that made me realize she jsut let them duke it out like a pack of animals she said to one of the “nana’s” honestly let them work it out fo rthemselves you’ll just stress yourself out if you have to break up every fight!! My boys fight and if i ignored it they would or could hurt each other I feel my job is to watch over them and teach them good behavior not let them fend for htemselves they are not a pack of lions and the strongest rules!! As the show continues I’m losing more interest they hardly show the kids it’s all about jon and kate and when I first started watching I was a late fan it was the tummy tuck episode and I just happen to be flicking through the channels and stopped there for a minute I said to my husband she is trying to get a free tummy tuck!! and now I know when they ask for stuff like when the kids had a movie night she made sure she mentioned SEVERAL times they had no furniture in the basement just the set I kept thinking boy she knows how to work the free bee stuff!! I just thought well you got to do what you got to do to give your kids everything you want for them but it’s not about the kids anymore it’s about stuff for her!! remember how she used to wear those God aweful greay sweat pants and she had no style sense Jon ahd to pic out her clothes?? Now look at her you would think she was an actually celeb!! they just had kids not even the natural way not really a big deal the reason I did grow to like the show was the kids were so cute I loved hearing the things they said!! One more thing why did Kate not go on any of the boys special days she went for everyone of the girls and made jon go her excuse was the boys wanted time with their dad but then why didn’t she take the girls alone she favors the girls the last time I watched the show was when she told Hannah the boys were disgusting cause i think it was joel that got her stuffed lamb wet by sucking on it she segragates the boys and girls.. I guarentee the kids well most of them will grow up and have nothing to do with her like she did to her parents!!

Kate is a drama queen/diva that bosses Jon around like he was her slave. She embarrasses him in public every time they go out, expects him to dress the kids, bathe them, brush their teeth,put them in the van, take them out of the van, –everything, while she stands around with her arms folded giving orders. He’s absolutely the only man that would put up with her.Is she ashamed of her family—except her brother- or will they not take orders from her being the reason they are not seen associating with her?.By the way, on the episode where the solar panels were put on their house, she showed what a flirt she is, too.If Jon ever askes for a divorce, it wouldn’t surprise me.She is ruining the show by her constant butting in when Jon is talking. She is showing her positive intention to be the “STAR” of the show.By the way, the kids and Jon are great !!!
