I tried to play it cool and wait to get the book. At about ten til midnight Friday I decided I had to go to the store for something anyway, why not go now and get the book. Another lady saw me rooting around for them and knew she wasn’t alone and weird. We both felt dejected when the tired cashier looked as us with exasperation – they were sold out. I understood…I saw the gaggle of girls that was just leaving when I got there and was glad to miss it.
I decided I’d made the trip so I might as well try another store. With luck they hadn’t put any out yet so I got to pick one from the box. Ahhhh, that felt nice. And a little losery.
I was struggling through a family cookout last night, the anticipation of getting back to my book prodding me. By the time we made it home I read two pages and fell asleep. Two pages! I’m at such a great part it’s killing me. I’m absolutely loving the Jacob and Edward action.
I was almost scared to come home, knowing it would be a fright. But at least in the dark it was easier to stomach – I couldn’t see the mess that was likely on the floor.
I looked and the kitchen floor was frosting free – I’m proud. Or the cat ate it, we’ll see if her next hairball is colored.
