Gray walls

I’ve hemmed and hawed (sp?) about what to do with Brady’s room. It’s a fairly good size square room so I’m afraid the colors he’s back to liking will be overwhelming. But he’s been without much of anything in the way of decor so I owe him something.

A couple of weeks ago I sobbed through a Primetime special about the now deceased Randy Pausch and “The Last Lecture”.  As it concluded, I blew my nose for the dozenth time and knew I should let the kid paint his dreams on the walls just as Randy had years before. My child will be inspired dammit.

Now as the marker drawn crucifix scene on his walls will attest – he would love this idea. Ah the church phase that even the Magic Eraser couldn’t fix. Anyhoo, I’m thinking a gray would be an acceptable background for one of his walls. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll be the coolest mom for letting him have at it. I won’t be as cool as his grandma of course, but I can certainly aim for a strong second

Good – I finished painting Braiden’s bathroom, at least for now, I reserve the right to change my mind a couple more times.  I also got the pièce de résistance for my bathroom wall that I’ve been waiting to buy on sale.  Maybe in a few more months, that one will be done too. 

Bad – Backed into someone’s car at the library. To sound cliché: she came out of nowhere, I looked all around. No one was hurt of course, except for my clean driving record with my insurance company. Guess I won’t be switching for a better rate this year *sigh* Oh and good thing she didn’t hit me (or anyone else) - she’s uninsured    That’s okay, my car needed a few marks on it to add to it’s “character”.

Frightening – Peepaw Jerry dancing a shirtless victory jig with his grandpa boobs flashing on BB last night.  Man am I really sick of him, so that means he’ll probably win.
