Second Grade

It looks like we lucked out for again – another great teacher! I think he’ll really enjoy some of the things she has planned – especially at the word ‘drama’. He’ll be happy to ham it up in plays.

Our neighbor girl is in his class and one of his friends from kindergarten. He just seems really bummed his bff from last year is in a different room. I guess that’s the downside of having 4 classes. I’m sure there’ll be some boys he gets on with the same, he just needs to settle in. The upside is he seems to have a multitude of friends to play with at recess when they’re all together.

I’m having a hard time accepting how old he is and/or that he’s the only. Being nine years older than my own closest sister, I hate that he’s now guaranteed the same fate or worse. Luckily he never seems lonely – when I manage to drag him inside at night from playing outside he’s just as content to play by himself too.

I say, no!

I’ve got approximately 20 unfinished blog posts, give or take.  I cannot blame myself completely.  Unfortunately, my mind’s been stuck trying to wrap itself around Katie Holmes’ jeans lately.  It’s like she has a compulsion with pegging?  Just when you see her looking normal, nope, there they are again.
