My mom made good on a promise she made me when I was approximately 10 years old. Though she didn’t have to buy me a ring for this reward, I got to pick one of my grandma’s. I love it. I’m glad I waited the extra couple decades to stop biting my nails for longer than a week.
I was a kind sister and let me sisters browse which ones they really liked before I made my final choice – I got the one I wanted anyway, I knew they wouldn’t want this one but didn’t let on – the opal’s not too flashy. Aside with my other grandma’s original wedding bands it’s the most beautiful thing, to me.
Well I suppose I should light a post-Twilight smoke and share my thoughts since I’ve now seen it twice. I was dragged, forced I tell you! Anyhoo, did I love it as much as the book? No. But I thought it came out quite good and followed the story pretty well.
The first uttering I heard leaving the theatre were girls upset at something that was changed. We giggled – Twi-hards in the flesh, I thought they only existed on the internet. You kind of have to change things to give the story more action – you can’t have 2 hours of Bella and Edward brooding and swooning! Honestly I had to really think hard to see what was “wrong” and I reread the book right before, silly girls.
Thumbs up: Rob’s accent adds something to the American accent like he’s trying really hard with every word – always love that in a charming import!
Thumbs up: Kristin was spot on to me with the awkwarness.
Thumbs down: Jacob, sweet baby Jacob had a near mullet with his icky extensions! Why?
Thumbs down: Not enough Vamp Sparkle, Alice, or really other Cullens in general. Load it up next time!
All in all…
I got a shock, er, surprise at dinner last night – my beloved Baby H will get a new brother or sister next summer. It was like I didn’t really hear what she’d said like ‘great, huh?’. I thought maybe next year or something as Aunt M had not been certain she was ready for more just a couple months ago so I really wasn’t prepared for that one.
Of course I’m excited for them, they’re great parents and have waiting a long time for this. But hey, I can be honest. I felt a twinge, er, kick in the stomach of jealousy at such a wonderful life they’ve built and the fun their kids will have together. It will pass (or I just need to rewind 2 days to the hours of loud rambunctious boys playing at my house this weekend), then I’ll fully hop on the train to thrilled town.
At that memory I feel it getting closer as I type. And I suppose this will give me an excuse to steal away Baby H for some extra quality “Beeeee” time when the new bundle arrives. So I will look forward to good news from the doc tomorrow and get my head in the right place.

Good news and a 4th of July date as well!
Mia Bella in all her glory and ear hair joined by a friend. I think it’s a phase, carrying stuffed animals or mice with her to her food bowl or bed…she’s like a crazy cat lady cat.
“I don’t see how that is any of your business.” Stupid, shiny Volvo owner.

Ahh. I giggle like a schoolgirl in spring. “Uh is that the book with the apple on the front?” Braiden asked with exasperation. Why yes it is.
I’m super excited for movie day. Not crying at the site of Robert Pattinson excited – I’m still not entirely loving the leads as much as some fans apparently. I know they’ll be great but I’m more excited about the lesser publicized characters. Team Alice!
Fine. Emmett too. I’ve got to get my pretty boy thrills somewhere since Movie Jacob doesn’t do it for me. Sorry kid, maybe we can share New Moon.
